The Michael Fox Remembrance Foundation was founded in memory of Michael Fox, who was killed at the age of 22 on June 25th, 2006, in a tragic automobile accident. Michael began racing KARTS at a small track in Columbiana, Ohio when he was eight years old. By 13, he was competing nationally and was first in his class for several years.
Pursuing his goal of racing gave Michael a positive alternative to the challenges many young people face, teaching him valuable skills, discipline, and sportsmanship. Our purpose at the Michael Fox Remembrance Foundation is to allow other young people this same opportunity.
We are proud to have teamed up with partners like BMW of Greer, SC to provide talented young drivers with scholarships and the chance to pursue their dreams, enriching their lives as they grow into accomplished, self-confident young men and women.
Through racing, young men and women can learn valuable educational skills and build traits such as discipline, self-respect, good work ethics, and sportsmanship. Michael Fox Remembrance Foundation scholarship applications are being accepted NOW.

Nathan is the proud recipient of the first annual Michael Fox Remembrance Foundation Racing School Scholarship. As a small boy, Nathan was introduced to Michael Fox, who soon became not only his friend but his mentor and hero. It was through Michael and his family that Nathan was first exposed to the world of racing.
In 2006, upon the loss of his dear friend, Nathan made the decision to honor Michael by returning to racing full-time. He carries with him the knowledge he learned from Michael and the willingness to help any other driver. As the recipient of this award, Nathan attended the prestigious BMW Performance Driving School in Greer, SC, and plans to use the knowledge and skills he was taught as he continues his racing career.

Michael was born in Winter Haven, Florida on October 31, 1983. From a very young age, his interests included motor-sports, especially motocross and kart racing. It was at the age of 8 that Michael received his first kart and started racing; he took to it like he knew it was the path he was meant to take and he never looked back.
When not racing, Michael mentored many young drivers, sharing the knowledge he had gained. Off the track, he was a very accomplished artist, talented with both sketching and airbrushing. His eye for color and artistic talent made him very successful in his career in the sign industry.
As anyone that met him would attest, Michael had the ability to light up a room with his mere presence. Above all else, Michael touched so many hearts in his short life - his legacy is destined to live on.
Michael’s passion was on the track. His love for racing was infectious, and he was dedicated to helping other young drivers find their footing in the sport he loved so much. The foundation continues this legacy through MFR Racing, supporting and mentoring the next generation of kart drivers.
